Sausage Rolls

INGREDIENTS
400g | Sausage, minced |
300g | Chicken, minced |
1 | Onion, chopped |
1 clove | Garlic, crushed |
1 | Medium carrot, grated |
1 cup | Fresh breadcrumbs |
3 tbsp | Parsley, chopped |
½ tsp | Ground nutmeg |
Salt and pepper To taste | |
3 sheets | Puff pastry, semi thawed |
Chilli Flakes (Optional) | |
1 tbsp | Sesame seeds |
DIRECTIONS
1 | Preheat oven to 200°C, line baking trays with baking paper. |
2 | Mix all minced meat, garlic, carrot, breadcrumbs, parsley, nutmeg and seasonings. |
3 | Beat 1 egg and add to mince mix, divide to 6 portions. |
4 | Cut pastry sheets in half, roll mince portion for about 20-25cm long. |
5 | Place down the sides, beat remaining eggs and brush the edges. |
6 | Roll up to close filling. Place it on the trays and brush it again with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds. |
7 | Bake it for 20 minutes or until it turns golden in colour. |
8 | Serve it with butterhead lettuce and salad dressing, as a light meal. |
You can also make these rolls in bulk and freeze them for a rainy day!
