Sausage Rolls

400gSausage, minced
300gChicken, minced
1Onion, chopped
1 cloveGarlic, crushed
1Medium carrot, grated
1 cupFresh breadcrumbs
3 tbspParsley, chopped
½ tspGround nutmeg
Salt and pepper To taste
3 sheetsPuff pastry, semi thawed
Chilli Flakes (Optional)
1 tbspSesame seeds


1Preheat oven to 200°C, line baking trays with baking paper.
2Mix all minced meat, garlic, carrot, breadcrumbs, parsley, nutmeg and seasonings.
3Beat 1 egg and add to mince mix, divide to 6 portions.
4Cut pastry sheets in half, roll mince portion for about 20-25cm long.
5Place down the sides, beat remaining eggs and brush the edges.
6Roll up to close filling. Place it on the trays and brush it again with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds.
7Bake it for 20 minutes or until it turns golden in colour.
8Serve it with butterhead lettuce and salad dressing, as a light meal.
You can also make these rolls in bulk and freeze them for a rainy day!
